Error on Warcraft, anyone help?

Post by FrozenTroll »

I'm getting this error when I try to connect to Battle.Net. Wanted to see if anyone here knew what to do before I go email Blizzard, or something.

Error: "There was an error writing to your Hard Drive while trying to download a file from Battle.Net. You may need to free some space. Check your Hard Drive and try again"

I have 770 gigabytes free on my hard drive...Any ideas? Help is appreciated.

Are you at the latest patch? I had this, too, when I tried to patch. Had to download it from their website. It may be a problem with too big of an HD. It happens on older games, however, I would think that Warcraft 3 wouldn't have it.

Check WC3's permissions? Perhaps something like an AV is blocking it from writing files.

Are you running Vista by any chance? I think I had the same problem

What you need to do is run it as administrator. Or just disable access controls, which is a lot better, because then you don't get idiotic popup spams whenever you try to do anything.
