Re: Game file device
Look in your downloads folder? If you look fast enough, (and if you're downloading), you can check the top right, above the image, and you'll see the map name until you're done downloading it, at which point it'll give you the name the author gave it.
Example: HellVsHeaven1.3.w3x --> Hell vs. Heaven

Re: Game file device
Find maps with a similar filename to the map in the Downloads\ folder. If there's multiple copies of the version you're playing, one possible solution is to try to rename/delete/move/other each map, until one of them can't (a message will appear saying that it cannot be deleted/moved/renamed as it is in use). That's the map you're currently using.

Re: Game file device
I find the easiest solution is right clicking and clicking "Arrange icons by date"
At the end of the list you should see the one you just downloaded

Re: Game file device
I don't think there's a program other than banlist that will tell you what map file you're using...

Re: Game file device
You could try this http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource.php?t=62985. Its pretty much a game finder, open up custom game file, minimize wc, turn on program, then the program will list all the games being hosted, includeing the game name and exact file name...In this case, you would probably just have to turn it on, then go back onto WC. The list (may, havent tested it myself), keep updateing until you join the game..then after joining just minimize WC to look onto the program for the file name...Its a lot of going back and forth...sorry if it doesnt work, as ive said i havent tested it..and i cant right now as for some reason im unable to log onto battlenet

Re: Game file device
why dont you make a new folder in the downloads folder
and you put everymap from the downloadfolder inside
than if you download a new map it's the only map in the downloadsfolder
