the following is a how-to find and locate the hidden files on an Ipod.

Ok first you will need clamwin Portable from Portableapps.com

When you get it and have it installed, run it and when it asks you what you want to scan, double click the letter drive of your ipod (usually e)

Then, have it scan your ipod for viruses. While it is doing that, be viewing the Ipod files and be comparing them with the ones that clamwin says it is scanning. You should notice eventually that Clamwin is scanning the files that arent there. (i.e. Ipod_control)

When you see Ipod_control, press stop, and go into the ipod using clamwin's branch-style file browsing. all of these files are hidden every other way so if you want to get to them, you will have to type out the individual file path. but hey, you found out how to listen to Your ipod without Itunes or the other players, havent you?
