XDEP failed, requesting help for deprotection.(files inside)

Post by D.I.Y_Death »

I came across a map with massive potential but unfortunately the lazy pricks who made those god awful shinobi wars f*cked it up. Its called Naruto vs Bleach and its an AoS most of the ground work is solid but they have bugs everywhere and a lot of balance issues that are very easily solved. I'm not looking to steal this map from them and of course the creators get credit for the map. I'd love to see a balanced/not bugged version of this map released and that's why I'm looking to you guys for help with deprotection.

I've followed the instructions on deprotecting using XDEP and it successfully deprotected but from there the map was reduced from 2.6mb to 1.6mb and would not open in the wc3 editor (original or unlimited)

The error I get from the deprotected map is as follows

Not enough storage is available to process this command

Program: c:\program files\warcraft iii\worldedit.exe
Object: WERandomSroupSet (.?AUWERandomGroupSer@@)

I've attached the original map and the deprotected version that doesn't work. The descriptions are self explanatory.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated and I'm still fairly new to this so detailed instructions might be needed (I catch on quickly though so as long as its explained like your talking to a 5 year old I shouldn't have any issues :P )

The .w3i file is corrupted, don't use it.
And get a full listfile!
Don't pm me with Warcraft questions, this is a forum so just make a post!

Thanks, gonna try again.
Finished, but I do have a question.
3.MPQMaster
Unrar it if you haven't, and open it up!
It should look like this.
Now then, press File, then Open(or alternately press ctrl+O)direct it to the map which you have already made a listfile for.
It should look something like this.
Ok, now then, select the options you want, should select; the listfile you created in mpqmaster, and any other listfiles you have that may help, I suggest, Warcraft III.txt, and Listfile.txt if you have them, then press the big OK Button.
It should now look like this.
Ok, now that we've got your map all opened up in mpqmaster, it should have everything all set, meaning no files are named Unknown000000000.xxx, if it isnt all setup, you need to make a better listfile, so compile one up, or use the one in xdep as well as the one you made, and open it again, then, lets move on.
You need to extract all files to the folder in which xdep created when it tried to unprotect the map, in the folder within that folder named 'files'.
It should look like this when extracting.
and in the folder, it should look like this.
Now then, go ahead and run xdep again, if it worked, grats, you did it well, if it didn't I'm sorry, maybe this wasn't for you, or this was a hard map, lets request it for Xantan to do it?
When you extract the files to the folder named "files" do you try deprotecting the original, the one you just deprotected or is there a third option I'm not seeing because I'm a noob?

Ugh the other option I see is putting it int the temp folder in the folder named files, but then how do I convert the temp folder into a wc3 file? Sorry for the questions but the last step in the process is really, really vague.

Ok after getting a good description ofwhat to do on that last step and the fact that its supposed to not create now files and use the ones you've compiled it doesn't work. Same error message and I've followed the instructions to the "T".
Can someone deprotect it for me? I'm not having any luck with this after spending 2 hours trying to deprotect.
