1. They may think that the GUI will be restored by deprotecting.
2. They may want to add GUI cheats of their by after deprotecting.
3. They may think deprotecting means adding a cheatpack.
4. They may think deprotecting means a map has every single cheat possible.
5. They may not have a clue what they're talking about.
