What does 1337 mean?

I always see 1337 and I guess it should mean "uber" or "great"
But how to you get that?
Why is it 1337 not 4556?

1337 is leet, leet is elite.

l = 1, e = 3, t = 7.
It's a online language, I guess, that was created a while ago...
See how my title is TH3 F34R3D? It's replacing letters with numbers...
So yeah... it's actually pretty lame, but oh well.
It looks kind of cool.

4=A 5=S 5=S 6=G

ASSG?

Heres how u use it:

A=4 B=8 E=3 G=6 I=1 L=1 O=0 S=5 T=7 Z=2

All other letters are in CAPS

4556 is a bad word which is newly created.
455 is "Ass", yes
but the 6 number should be understood like this: there is a hole at the bottom of the number.
So it kinda shows you what it means. It you can't figure it out, here's the tips: what's the name of the hole at the bottom of a human body?
well I can't say it, since it might be against the rule to say such an ugly word.
