He wouldn't make such a law as no law would pass like that. Congress won't make a law like that to begin with, however they can make it for states to make such a decision, such as California legalizing gay marriage. If it becomes the state decision then you can blame your govenor/senate leader.
Why won't Obama do it? Because he's from Illinois and that's close to the southern border from where I live. Where I live guns = life because of all of the hunters here. If he were to ban guns then you will see him 6 feet under and thats no joke. The worse that could happen with guns is if you were required to be licensed to carry one. I mean honestly how many people carry around guns on a day to day basis except for drug dealers and cops. If your gonna carry you ought to have a license anyways because most of the dumbasses out there don't even know how to switch the safety off, let alone shoot a gun. It's just something else to stir up some trouble when nothing like it is gonna happen in the first place.
McCain is a complete dumbass. He flip-flops more than John Kerry. He needs to make up his mind on which issues he's for and against. We've already spent 6 trillion dollars on the war and he wants to push it for another 100 years if it takes it, and I can guarantee it will take another 100 years and more. I used to like McCain but after he flipped the coin and decided for the war again I switched my vote. If you can't make up your mind you don't deserve to be president. We already had 2 Bushes, he's practically family now as he served with both of them. Do we really want another Bush? Think about it...

whether or not barak obama hussein will actually get guns illegal is debateable, sure.
that however doesn't change the fact that barak himself said that he wishes to put a ban on all guns.

Japan has illegalized guns though, and has for a long time. They see less crime than we, but when someone pulls a gun out, I'm not sure how they'd deal with that...
Wishing and doing are 2 different things and I can guarantee it won't happen. You can take away guns, but the black market will still be there. If it did happen it would be the Prohibition all over again, except with guns.

I think it's a good thing, there are about 10.000 people killed by guns every year in the usa - below 100 in Germany!
