But then we would be more exposed. Right? And hacking is against rules. Right? So.. Then more people are aware of us, then if we become TOO popular, we could just like... be restricted from internet by law. Lol... I think :-/

Re: We should
It's not.
By the User End Agreement that everyone agreed to before they were allowed to play Wc3, EVERY map made with World-Editor is property of Blizzard. And really, hacking a map is only editing the map, the .j file. So no, we are not breaking ANY law by hacking a map.

How many times have I told people this. It. Is. Not. Hacking.
Therefore, no Blizzard law can really touch us, plus, this site is in Germany, so it's exempt from Blizzard's rules, even if it was illegal.
So, it doesn't really matter if you do it or not, but more traffic would be cool.

Yeah, third party tools, such as Ban-list, Auto-Refresher, Custom Kick, Name Spoofer are all considered hacks. What we do is EDITING!
So we totally pwntz0rz map makers because they can't do anything to us!

Re: We should
Why shouldn't you call it hacking?
When is it hacking?
I think editing mpq files is hacking.
They are an undocumented file archive format and the whole mpq tools are hacks developed by reverse engineering.
Is the rcpd thing I released a hack? It changes the memory of the swat program, so does it "hack" or just change numbers in the memory?
Does it matter if the number you change it in memory or in the harddisk inside a wc3 map?
Sure not, since cracking is also a kind of hacking... so wc3 map editing using mpq tools might be cracking/hacking O.o

Re: We should
Okay, so MPQMaster is a hacking tool? By opening a map differently than World Editor? I very much doubt even Blizzard considers it a hack, because it is a different kind of World Editor.Dekar wrote:Why shouldn't you call it hacking?

I consider the S.W.A.T. gen a hack, but it's 100% different from cheating a map, as it's a program specifically to create a cheated code for a particular map. MPQMaster was not created for cheating maps, or to create a cheated code, so it's different.

Re: We should
No, that shouldn't be called hacking.
Hacking is more of...
Using a computer to access other computers/documents/files
that you shouldn't be able to get to, or even sending viruses.
I forget the name of the person, but he "hacked" the government.
He sent a virus to over 100,000 computers, it made them all...
paper weights.
That is hacking, what we do is editing, maybe un-wanted editing,
but it is still editing. We do nothing against any law at all.
