Hello,
As the title says, does anyone know a way to edit a maps units, items or abilities, without using World Editor? I used W3M Master but I can't say I'm a fan of it.

I do most of my edits using triggers.
I think there was a way GeorgeMots used to edit stuff using EXCEL, not sure if he just extracted the files data (like war3map.w3u) or he used slk object optimizer.

I use WurstScript which takes the war3maps to a readable document (Visual Studio Code is what I use), where I can easily create abilities, or even change. It was hard to get the crack for it at the start, but once you learn it, it's quite handy.
Another way is would to use a slk reading program like War3slk Edit, and read the slks, which I as well do for smaller tweaks.
This is the ways I found after a bit of research, since I don't particularly like WorldEditor since it lags for everything I do on the map I'm trying to change, even just importing the war3maps alone in an empty map.
Anyhow, thanks for the help both of you.

Hello Null-chan, just extract the related files of each data you want, like:
war3map.u = unit
war3map.a = abilities
and import it into a blank map on World Editor, do all changes you need and extract it back, adding the new edited files on original map.
You can create units/edit units, anything you want.
Also here's a topic with a explanation of each file inside a .w3x/.w3m folder

I already found a better way than what you suggested since the war3map.a is big enough to make WC3 load for 15m to make one change. But regardless, thanks.
