Taking my w3a and w3t to another map

Post by Regno »

So basically, I took a map and extracted W3T and W3A and imported it into a new WC3 map I made from WorldEditor.

Now everything works as intended, but when I extract the W3T and W3A from the new map back into the original map; all abilities description/hotkeys disappears, damage works as intended but not the description of ability and the name and hotkey for it; any clue why those disappear? Or how to go around it or fix it?

Thank you

Did you make changes to descriptions in the new map?

What happens in that scenario, is every time you edit text, the *.wts (strings) changes and the lines of text may not line up to your descriptions anymore when you import to a different map. Not all, but ones that got changed. (If I recall correctly).

Any description/hotkey changes you would like to make, do it in the original map where it belongs.

The reason might be that you're not using a proper viewer for a Russian map.

Try googling viewing using "non-unicode programs" to be compatible to "Russian" language.

Wow stupid for not thinking about this,

both methods work for anyone who will run into the same issue as me in the future.

Thanks XD! & Vegas
