About rebuilding the protected maps

I have been trying to understand how to make a whole new map without corrupting since MPQMaster kept crashing whenever there had been a protected map. Please tutor me carefully and show me the easiest way to do that. Thank you.

Open the target map with MPQ Editor Old Version set to "read only" and "force opening of MPQs". Then select all of the files, and press the extract button found in operations, and select the target folder. Then open regular Mpq Editor, and select the "Build MPQ from directory" option in operations. Save as a .w3x file. open the vexorian's map optimizer, and use it on the map WITHOUT compress names selected. Then proceed to open XVI32, and use the Blocks <N> chars option from there on the regular map. Select decimal and type in 512. Hit Copy As Hex String. Go to the recently optimized map, and select the first block and hit Paste As Hex String. You now have a playable, un corrupted map.

After following your instructions, i had an extracted map which was 12MB. Please show me the way how to configure the wc3 map optimizer because there are a lot of boxes. When I hit Optimized the map became a few hundred Kilobytes. And 1 more thing, I have got all the tools needed.

You do it very simply. YOU READ WHAT ON THE BUTTONS and DO what you want.

It really depends on the map.

Some maps are protected so if they're optimized they get reduced to an unplayable size by removing necessary files. It'd really help if you upload the map.

If its something like DotA, then just optimize the .j file instead of the map file.

There's no 'perfect' setting for the 4.9map optimizer. Try experimenting.
