Blue screen of death
Help please, today i dled a file, opened the file, the comp auto rebooted saying "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer" i try to go in safe mode, also pops up blue screen of death, I also tried "Last Known Good Configuration", same result. I google'd it up and ppl said either recovery disc or go to msconfig and boot.ini and all that stuff, problem with that i dont got a recovery disc, and i cant even go into normal windows mode to even delete the file, or to go msconfig. Any ideas will be appreciated, and thank you for those who have tried to help.

What was it for a file? Where did you download it from?
Downloading program cracks form a website that has more porn popups than my dresser drawer is never a good thing.

Oh Bartimaeus, ever so precise and to the point!
But yeah, you may try to back up important documents with a bootable disc (Knoppix/Ubuntu) and try to recover important stuff, not everything. And then reformat.

That's not entirely true. If you can make a bootable virus scanning disk he can get rid of the virus. If he lives in the Pittsburgh area he could also see me and I'd probably be able to do it.

Reformatting is so much better though. You can get rid of all the trash that may have been slowing your computer for yearsPyro7778 wrote:That's not entirely true. True, but sometimes you don't want to go through the hassle of reinstalling everything.Ozzapoo wrote:Reformatting is so much better though.
