Its the default ip for most routers.

It's similar to 192.168.0.1 which is the default gateway ip for most home networks.
Anyway - google has an open DNS server running at the IP 8.8.8.8 ;)

192.168.0.1 is the default for a lot of routers, and his external IP address has the same three ending blocks as that. If you don't know this, it's probably not as amusing to you...
Related topic, IPv6. I've been trying to configure this, but my provider doesn't seem to want to do it. Is there any benefit to signing up with a free tunnelling service, or should I not bother?
