Re: is there a problem in editing dota maps?
The reason is because xdep doesn't work on DotA with out some work. Right now I am working on a Open DotA 6.45 with triggers organized and regions and etc recovered. Fully openable in editor and playable just as IceFrog has it. Don't really expect it to be out soon, it is a lot of work for one person.
You know why the Yankees always win, Frank?
'Cause they have Mickey Mantle?
No, it's 'cause the other teams can't stop staring at those damn pinstripes.

i think it's hacking since we're editing things that aren't ment to be edited, so even protection is kind of hacking...
the word "hacking" is really widely used, but it fits fine for every way to edit maps that isn't the normal way...

Re: is there a problem in editing dota maps?
Deprotection is restoration, not hacking. Modding a map doesn't count as anything because Blizzard gives us permission to edit any of their maps (thus being all maps on B.Net) so long as we don't screw with B.Net, give others malware, or ruin the ladder. Protection is destruction. No one actually hacks, unless of course they use the map to hack another's computer or server (this includes B.Net).
