Fixing corruption in mpq

Hello,

I was hacking and playing maps normally, i just reinstalled warcraft 3, and now, i've stumbled upon a map that fails to open with MPQmaster.
The map i was trying to hack, well maybe you know it from earlier requests, is Castle Fight 1.14b.
I really have no idea how to make it openable, i saw in another thread that someone somehow got into it and hacked it, can anyone please tell me how to get into it?

Uhh, silly me, I forgot the name..something 32.. It had an X in it.

XVI32 is what you're talking about. Really, any decent hex editor will do, though.

i think that the 1st to hack it was FatherSpace...
and u fix that map just like any other.

REBUILD THE MPQ.

for this certain map ull need some knoledge of map hacking.. the way is kept secrete by FS and other ppl... but u can allways use the requests section

I don't know what "secret way" you're talking about, but you had no problems hacking it for that request.

What haxorico means by "rebuilding" the MPQ is that you need to use RMPQEx to extract every file in the map, and then use any of the other MPQ editors to make a new map and reinsert the extracted files.

well i had no problems coz i "solved" FatherSpace challange map.. that has the same solution.. and on that "Fun Challange" FS asked not to post the answer... coz then that protection would be useless..

if still u want me to post a guide on how to bypass it.. well no problems just gotta respect other ppl requests and not to "publish" the bypass..

If this is FS's corruption, then RMPQEx is blocked too. The only thing that works is MPQView and storm.dll, rebuilding MPQ is out of the question since you can't gather a complete listfile.

How a listfile can affect this?

PS: you can always get a complete listfile.

Risen: Even if RMPQEx can't open it and figure out a listfile, we can always use Dekar's tool, since it ties directly into WC3. Then you use MPQView (or Ladik's with read-only and storm.dll mode) with that listfile to open the map, extract everything, and rebuild.
