Fugu Fish Cutting

I thought this was pretty interesting. This Japanese chef is preparing live Fugu fish (poisonous blowfish) for sashimi (raw sushi).

You can do that to chickens, too, if you cut in the right place. They'll run around headless for a good 5 minutes before they drop dead from loss of blood.

That's because there are nerve centers in the chicken's neck, not just in its head. Or something similar to that.

The fish technically dies after you cut off the head, the thriving movements you see are caused by reflexes and only keep going as long as the muscles have oxygen.

I have seen several videos of asians serving still living animals, or torturing them before death. I really don't get it, what's the advantage? I think I've read some koreans believe tortured dogs taste better than normal ones - that's so fucked up. And for seafood - I really couldn't stand having my food still move inside my mouth -.-

Most animals release adrenaline or some other similar hormone before they die. Such is the case with crabs. If you cook a crab after it dies, it doesn't taste as good as if it were dying in the pot. It's horrible, I know . But meh. It tastes better.

More than that i saw 3 months ago at a TV show a headless chicken that survived 5 years.....not a fuckin lie just google if you don't trust me

I believe his name was Mike the headless chicken? (I think he was a rooster, actually..).

EDIT: Nvm, Mike only lasted 18 months...
