Compacting

Post by Syre »

...Any tips on it? I tried with vexorians..however..something went wrong. Horribly..horribly wrong.

Note : The original size is 3.9mb

So, as you can see..ive really got no luck with that..besides using compact flush when adding a CP, how can you reduce the size?

What option you checked on Vexorian's Optimizer? Between, you can try Heavy Locker too. Works fine though.

I didnt know which to use, and the readme for vexs just said to check everything besides tweak..Most of the time it..somehow increased the map size by just a few mb..but for some reason that time, even though i didnt change anything, made the map 1.25gb..which is quite an insane jump..

Maybe the Optimizer is too old? I know that the latest version is 4.9. And for some map, you don't really need to check all of the option. For me, i checked all the option at the part [Map Optimization Options] and [Extra Cleaning]. ;-)

Nah, im using the newest one. I got it to work on a different map by using all the options, however maybe it was just a stroke of luck or something but i havent been able to get any other one.

For one, choosing all the options is usually a bad idea. Not choosing any of the stuff in the extra cleaning section is usually a good idea.
Secondly, I've always had better luck with HeavyLocker. http://forum.wc3edit.net/viewtopic.php? ... 641#p58641

Well, when i want to compact i use, "Zlib Deflate", "New Buffer Size (autodetect)" and the 3 options of extra cleaning.
