RMPQX error? or map is just f***ed up?!

well i love playing escape builder. i played escape builder 1.9 alot. then came the new patch.
a little search got me this map

well i tried hosting it. map didnt show at map selection. so i followd an old step i got from George. change the map name. to a shorter name. well i changed it to ESCB.w3x

then. i hosted the map. tho my friend canot join. i assume its coz he downloads the map with the full length name and he will have the error im having.

so i wanted to shorten the map name itself. i opened the map with hex editor and deleted all the extra shit. like COMMUNITY EDITION and shit...

i wanted to change the name in the .wts or .j file. like in any other map. i tried to open with MPQMaster > fail.
i went to try with RMPQEx and wtf?! i canot open the map. i get the error

so did i do smthing wrong? is the map just fcked up?! is it a rly advanced protection thingy?!

What do you want? MAYBE i can do it for you...

And you should do something wrong on hex editor, so it f****ed up the map.

Edit : Yes, if you use hex editor to edit the 'map body' (I means the .w3x file itself), it will f****ed the map. Maybe some issue of the latest patch.

So, i just edited the .wts file as well, and it works. Anyway, here is the map.

When you deleted stuff in hex editor, you probably actually deleted those bytes, instead of overwriting them, as you should have.

The MPQ header has to be at 512, so when you delete bytes before that, it's shifted backwards, so the header isn't detected.

well i do use the overide option. so what to do in order to make the map name shorter? i cant delete as it getting shitty afterwards

At the beginning of the file, it has some stuff, then the map name, then some seemingly random stuff.

The stuff at the end, copy to clipboard. It should be 6 bytes directly following the map name.

Change the map name, overwriting anything you want to not be inlcuded anymore with null characters (hex 00).

Paste the stuff from your clipboard after that name.

Find the MPQ header, and insert/delete bytes before it such that the M in MPQ is at 512.
