Anyways, I don't use an anti-virus; if I need something scanned, I use virustotal.com. I'd like to get a scanner than I could use whenever I wanted, but I haven't heard of one that's just that and doesn't try to take over your computer.
Best AntiVirus?

It was an honest typo . I just never bothered to fix it, but instead type out two sentences! C'mon! It's logical!Bartimaeus wrote:...banned.
I wonder why you have all those computer problems o_o....Bartimaeus wrote: Anyways, I don't use an anti-virus
You can schedule and limit Norton to scan at certain times only.Bartimaeus wrote:I'd like to get a scanner than I could use whenever I wanted, but I haven't heard of one that's just that and doesn't try to take over your computer.
virustotal only scans one file at a time o_o. Would be a pain if you wanted to scan your whole computer for a virus >>. And it doesn't seem like it scans links, either.

It still has crap that I can't turn off. AVG, for example. I can't even shut it down. I can turn of daily scans, but it still has email scanner, link scanner, all that crap I don't want. All I want to be able to do is SCAN one item, or maybe a few, and that's it. I want NOTHING else at all. I've even googled for a "scanner only" Anti-Virus, but nothing comes up.UndeadxAssassin wrote:It was an honest typo . I just never bothered to fix it, but instead type out two sentences! C'mon! Anyways, haven't gotten a virus for years. I have a copy of AVG, McAfee, and Kaspersky waiting to be installed about every month, and after it comes up clean on all three, I uninstall, ;P
(edit) All I ever DO is scan one file. Why would I need to scan my whole computer if I scan every file I download that I don't trust?

Bart, than Norton 2010 is for you! You can turn every single feature off or Download more features and settings off there site for it.Bartimaeus wrote:(edit) All I ever DO is scan one file. Why would I need to scan my whole computer if I scan every file I download that I don't trust?
And its not the files that you should be worried about. Last year Google got sued by a company because when the company went to there search engine a Virus downloaded onto there servers and killed half the computers in the company. That happened last year and the virus was on there site for 3 days.
Hackers can put a virus anywhere they feel if they know how to get in. Speaking of witch my friend planted a Virus in Microsoft but it only lasted a couple hours
