can anyone tell me how to host because when i typed my default gateway it says password and account when i type admin///admin or user///user it wont works could somebody help me

If that don't work, then contact person who managed your router, I think he configured it with password and account.

If you have router you have to configure not only Firewall but also router firewall thing.
If you don't have router, you only just need to configure Windows Firewall...

Well, he said he doesn't know the password to his router, which is needed for portforward.

Usually it's admin//password(sometimes with a random number) or admin//admin.

If you don't know, just call your provider and I'm sure they can tell you.

Why would he waist time making a phone call???? Usually its the default password and Username is on the Bottom or back of the router on a little sticker, if its different, there's always a Factory Reset button its a little tiny button you need to use a paperclip.

Maybe you could tell us the brand of your router. Someone might have the same and can give you the access codes.

@Black-Hole: Because if he has a router like mine, the default password was password92.
I dunno about you, but I'd have never thought of the 92 part.

This is how I hosted :
Step 1.

You need to know your IP address for hosting, so If ur xp, go to start > run > cmd. If you're Vista, go to Start > search> cmd. Open that up, and type in ipconfig. It should show 3 lists of numbers like 192.168.1.??? or 192.168.?.? These three are the IP address, the Subnet Mask, and the default gateway. As far as I know, you'll only need the IP and the gateway. On to step 2.

Step 2.

Type your default gateway in the address bar. It should come up with something like this:
A username and password are being requested by http://???.???.?.?. The site says: "(Your Router)
and then 2 boxes that you need a username and password for. This is your router's user and pass, you should know it. Otherwise, ask mommy or daddy. On to step 3.

Step 3.

I have a linksys router, so i have a section that says games or whatever.In that section, You should see a line of text boxes, horizontal and vertical. Choose one box on the very left, and Type In Warcraft III. The Port should be 6112-6112, the IP should be the last 3 numbers of ur ip address, and You should be able to check both TCP and UDP. Save These Changes and you can host.

Thats all. If theres ever a time that comes when you stop hosting, except all ur ports are forwarded, reset the router. Have Fun and Good Luck!
