Re: Request Deprotect maps ice escape
You cannot edit deprotected maps by doing that.
edit the files.
war3map.w3e - Terrain
So put the file into a blank map and edit it then put it back into the other map.

Re: Request Deprotect maps ice escape
Okay, I will try to make this as clear as I can.
Please, if you don't understand a part of it, just make a post saying which parts you don't understand.
1. You can not edit deprotected maps! They will become corrupted! (Can't save them in Editor, nor can you play it in WC3)
2. You can bypass deprotecting the maps if you use MPQMaster to take the terrain file from the map.
--Steps to getting the terrain file--
1. Download MPQMaster. (Click here)
2. Right click the folder, extract all.
3. Open the folder and find "MPQMaster.exe", run it.
4. Look at the bar that runs across the top. Find "File", click and and then click "Open".
5. Find the map that you want the terrain from, and open it. (Open it with "Listfile" checked)
Note:
It should open and show a bunch of files. From here, you can get any information from the map
that you want. Items, abilities, units, terrain, custom models/images, anything. If you want anything
besides the terrain, make a post and I will tell you what/how to get it.
6. Find the war3map.w3e and right click it. Click Extract.
Note:
Now, this is the file that holds all the terrain information. It will not hold the pre-placed units in
the map, or any custom doodads. It's just the pathing of the map.
7. Click "File" and click "Open", now find the map that you want to import the pathing to.
Note:
If you want to use the pathing for your own map, but haven't started it yet, open World Editor.
Make a new Custom Map and then save it. It will be blank, but that's fine.
8. Once you have your map opened, right click where all the files are. Click "Add File(s)" and
find the "war3map.w3e" that you extracted from the map earlier.
9. Close MPQMaster (You don't need to save the changes, it's automatic) and open World Editor.
10. Open your map in World Editor, you should have the terrain.
If you can't do it, just tell me in a PM and I will do it and post the terrain on here.

Wrong, you can edit them as long as you know what to leave intact.Kryptonyte wrote: 1. You can not edit deprotected maps! They will become corrupted! (Can't save them in Editor, nor can you play it in WC3).
