World Editor doesn't work

Okay, this seems to be a huge Problem for me.
I was trying to open World Editor, because I wanted to get some Rawcodes for a rpg.
So I've opened World Editor, it loads like hell but I get no terrain or anything else.
I'm using Vista home premium.
(I've tried it with admin and without, but both don't work)

Compatibility mode for XP, maybe? Can Vista do that?
And is the map deprotected?

You can just open the map with RMPQEx and have it extract the rawcodes for you.

I can't even open World Editor, so it's pretty "useless"
I've selected no map, just pure World editor, but after loading, it doesn't react anymore

Is it only this map?

Is it all maps?

If it's the second, then we can deduce that it's a problem of you not extracting the items file correctly. If it's the second, then we know it's most-likely a hardware problem.

...but why not just use RiV's object info dumper?

Actually..I'm not even using a single map..
just the World Editor..which doesn't work, since it loads like hell and freezes so I have to use ctrl + alt + delete to exit world editor..

It's probably a problem with Vista. However, did you do as Senethior suggested?

Right click your icon, (not .exe), for World Editor. Properties. Compatibility tab. Mark "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose XP.

Oh yeah, sorry, missed that, I thought you meant by loading, you meant a map...but you meant just World Editor in general after starting it up.

Yup, but now I can't even open it. If I click on it, no response, nothing.

I don't know why it's doing that. Have you tried reinstalling?
