Re: STUPID FUCKING WINDOWS VISTA
Vista gets a lot of negative PR. It's not that great; I prefer XP to Vista. But if you just use it for a few weeks, you'll realize it isn't that bad. Most of the problems people have with it are because they're used to how you do things in XP, and when it's changed between XP and Vista, you have issues acclimatizing to it. The graphics do need stronger hardware than some other operating systems, but you can disable a lot of the effects, and it will still look decent. Some people are annoyed by how it constantly asks you if you're sure you want to run this program? Are you sure you want to let this connect to the internet? but it's just for your computer's safety. They're trying to ensure that the system doesn't let viruses run, or connect to the internet; they want to leave you in control of what happens on your computer. Ubuntu does the same thing; hell, any decent antivirus program will do the same sort of confirmation thing!
Honestly, I don't see why people hate Vista so much. Yeah, it's pretty overpriced, and yeah, it has a lot of shortcomings. But if you don't like it, don't don't click me it! There are other options! (I don't mean Mac, either. If you're complaining about how things are different between XP and Vista, you'll have the same problems with a Mac. And they're expensive) Dekar has converted me; this is the best alternative: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/ (There are other distros of Linux that are good as well, but Ubuntu is the best for general use. The others are specialized)

Re: STUPID FUCKING WINDOWS VISTA
You spelled Kubuntu wrong...
I dunno, just personal preference.
Anyway, Vista works completely fine. I've been using it for the past year, and the only things I dislike are asking me if I want to run programs as administrator, even though I've run them loads of times before (e.g., TFT Local).
Otherwise, it's fine, but I still prefer Kubuntu to it. I'd be using it now if not for sharing this comp with my brother...

Re: STUPID FUCKING WINDOWS VISTA
Bart, he's joking. He prefers Kubuntu, which runs on KDE, over Ubuntu, which runs on GNOME. Honestly, I don't think there's that much of a difference, but some people prefer it. I haven't tried out KDE, but I've heard that it has more options, and is more customizable, than GNOME. Then again, I heard that GNOME looks better, and supports more programs...
Anyway, 8 days until Jaunty's release!
If you rightclick on the file and go into Properties, there's an option in one of the tabs (Maybe Security, I forget what it's called) that you can select that will automatically run it as administrator, without asking you.

Just wanted to give my two cents.
Windows 7 beta > Windows Vista
It always holds true. Windows 7 is fucking amazing. I would never use anything else. Ever.

Re: STUPID FUCKING WINDOWS VISTA
I like vista, i've had it for two years. It does get annoying with the User Account Control and stuff, but there's customization for a reason. If you spend two hours customizing things so it won't get annoying, vista will be a breeze. Honestly, i've never had a problem with vista.
