[REQ] Deprotection guide

well i saw some guides at sticky but they dont work :S i do what it says and i still canot open the map. i followd the guide about.

i managed to understand the cheatpack and the sp but i cant deprotect.
im aware of that then when u unprotect u loose some files/data but i cant even get the map to open =\
allthough i saw ppl on the fullfild section that manage to unprotect for some ppl that requested. are there new programs for that? did i miss a guide at sticky? am i outdated?

i tried googeling but i get alot of outdated files. i had 1 from 2004 =\.

Sometimes you have to open the protected map with MPQmaster and delete the war3map.w3i and insert a blank .w3i.

I uploaded a blank one, DL it and try.

here is your original post (without pics coz this thread isnt about a guide so sry..)

First guide, Deprotecting. I'll go ahead and split the three parts into spoilers for better view.

I'm using BattleStadium DON as an example, Since it's right here in my maps folder and it has plenty of files.
First off, Go ahead and open the map with RMPQEx, Make sure you "auto search", and "add listfile" (Find the listfile that came with X-Dep and use it), We need to get a complete listfile, A listfile is all of the filenames, Without a listfile the filenames would be "File00001.xxx" or something. DONE

Next, Save the listfile, And put it in the X-Dep folder, Also, Put your map there. DONE

To save a little time, Open up the xdep configuration settings and change your first line to what mine is, DONE
After you've done that, Rename your map name to . so that xdep will use it, also make sure your listfile is named "listfile". ]DONE
Run xdep. DONE

Since battlestadium is primarily a chinese map, SLK Object Console has problems dealing with it, So for now, My battlestadium DON isn't deprotected completely, But most maps don't use 'widgetiser', So most of the time you won't need to worry about it.
(P.S. Any map that MPQMaster won't open has their mpq header damaged, Extract all of the files then try and use MPQEditor to generate a new w3x archive with all of the files). (not needed coz the map is avilable to open with mpqmaser)

That means the MPQ Archive has been corrupted, Deprotecting it is an ass then.

Just get a complete listfile, and use MPQEditor to open it. It only uses storm.dll so it'll work fine.

Extract contents, then rebuild the MPQ.

Then run xdep.

i really appriciate your help but im a begginer so can u explain a little more detailtd?

In RMPQEx, click Search for files..., then you can extract them all.
To rebuild it, just make a new map with whatever MPQ program you want, and then add in the extracted files from the original map.

after i do Seach for files it gave me that window that i need to pick a map again. so i clinked on the same map im deprotecting. and i couldnt do anything tbh. so i just clicked on extract all. i put it all in the new mpq file that was called DEPROTECTED.mpq then i renamed the mpq to w3x so it will be able to open with world editor. and still i cant do it =\
i uploaded the map if its helping.

You don't extract it and put it in the deprotected map. You extract it, put it in an empty map, and then deprotect that map.

lol ofc not i didnt put it in a deprotectd map. i just opend MPQMaster. clicked on NEW. and called the file deprotected. then i just did it .w3x.
but i think i have an idea what i did wrong.

btw how can i tell it where to extract the files? its allways extracting the files to maps\downloads.
its a pain in the ass =\ it doesnt ask me where to extract. just extracting over there,,

i got the map i "made" with mpqmaster. into the X-Deprotector. and i when it finished. i open the map.

the good news. i can open it and it has all the triggers (i think its just 1big jass trigger or smshit ^^).
the bad news. all the region is now lava ^^ wtf? do i need to import files now?

it seems i accedently i deprotected warlock map ^^ i forgat to change in the .ini file from .w3m to .w3x.

well now i got the dota map. i tried to deprotect it. and i still cant open it! grrrrrrr!@!@!@!@!@!@! deprotecting is harder then inserting a bloody cheat pack!
