Example: Count players in map; if there's only a player, display an easily searchable string such as "No single player allowed" then defeat them with "CustomDefeatBJ".
So you can rule out a lot of stupid shit that's easy to find.

I won't be either. I seriously don't know why anyone would use that anymore.
It's still effective, that's why. Most people can't even disable something that simple, so why should the mapmakers bother to put in a more effective anti-singleplayer? To stop the few people who can beat that easy protection, but who wouldn't be able to beat their new system? It's kind of pointless to do anything stronger, unless you really think you'll have some good people working on your map.
