Xdep not working? deprotecting (Solved)

Post by thelastsuperpower »

Hi
I was trying to unprotect a map using this guide by xantan

when I got to the last step
3.MPQMaster
[...]
You need to extract all files (from MPQMaster) to the folder in which xdep created when it tried to unprotect the map, in the folder within that folder named 'files'.
It should look like this when extracting.
and in the folder, it should look like this.
Now then, go ahead and run xdep again, if it worked, grats, you did it well, if it didn't I'm sorry, maybe this wasn't for you, or this was a hard map, lets request it for Xantan to do it?
xdep had deleted the temporary folder 'files' for me the first time I ran the program so I created a folder 'yourmap.w3x.temp\files' and extracted from MPQMaster to that 'files' folder.
But when I ran xdep again, like the guide says, it just redid the first step of unprotecting again and deleted the files folder.

Help please? :?

edit

nevermind it was just the map that was too well protected:(

I'd like to point out that in XDep's settings file, there's an option that automatically deletes the temporary files folder. It looks like this:

Code: Select all

clean_temp_onstart = 0
clean_temp_onsuccess = 0
clean_temp_onerror = 0
Yours probably say 1, however. Change the 1s to 0s, to match what I have above, and it won't delete the files folder.
