Re: Destroy trigger
If you destroy a trigger, it is the same as turning it off irreversably. So if you plan to use a trigger again, don't destroy it, just turn it off.

Re: Destroy trigger
Let's say you have an initialization trigger to give every player gold and you only want t to run once. Destroying the trigger works just as well as turning it off if it only has to work once per game.

Re: Destroy trigger
Here it is (in jass)
DestroyTrigger <- PEW PEW PWNS TRIGGER.
EnabledTrigger <- Turns on... duh.
DisabledTrigger <- Turns off... duh.
Why would you want to destroy a trigger?
Answer: BECAUSE WE CAN IN JASS, BITCHEZ.

Re: Destroy trigger
Destroying a trigger also frees up memory, so if you have lots of triggers, hopefully it will lag less.

Re: Destroy trigger
Also, for loading/saving systems, noobs won't search for "destroytrigger" if they don't know about it. amirte?Ozzapoo wrote:Destroying a trigger also frees up memory, so if you have lots of triggers, hopefully it will lag less.

Re: Destroy trigger
So I would have to make a duplicate trigger and use an activater for it, such as a chat phrase.

Re: Destroy trigger
Um... yeah. Or, if possible, you can just make certain conditions.
(But idk what trigger you're doing or what it's about, but here's an example)
Say it's a game message system.
You could have conditions to check if they're in a certain group,
then display it to them. But yeah, depending on the trigger, you
would have to have an activation trigger and a disabling trigger
along with the trigger.

Re: Destroy trigger
Its actually a trigger for single player. When playing alone, then this trigger is destroyed. Its for my XP system. If I just turn it off, then when someone goes to type in their xp, it activates the trigger again, so I see why it needs to be destroyed.
I guess for testing purposes, it would be better to make a second set of the same triggers that would be activated by me, only for me in test mode.
I guess I could just disable this trigger while I am testing, but if I forget the damn thing disabled and release the map, that would suck.
