Kay, so. I'm usually on Azeroth (US East server). When I tried to connect to BNet, it said:
"Unable to connect to Battle.net. You may be trying to connect to an invalid Battle.net server. If you are using a modem, you may need to manually connect to the internet before connecting to Battle.net."
Now, after seeing this, I checked to see if I was on Azeroth or not, and I was. So, to make sure, I click the lil magnifying class and choose the Azeroth option. I try to connect again. It didn't work. So I tried connecting to Lordaeron to see if it's only Azeroth that I can't connect to. And I successfully connect to Lordaeon. I try to connect to Azeroth again, and the same message comes up. So I try their second option, and reset my modem connection. The same thing happens, I can connect to the Asia port and the US West port, but not to Azeroth. I was online (by that I mean on Azeroth server) earlier in the morning and I was online yesterday.
So I try something else. I try to connect my bot to the server. It didn't work, but the error message said:
"2008.11.23 15:52:14.2500 :: Error In clsCore.sockBNET_OnEventError() : Error clsSocketTCPClient.ReceiveComplete() : Socket Receive Failed: ConnectionReset"
I, of course, don't know what this means. Can anyone help?
I use Windows XP, Home Edition. Compaq Presario computer from 2002, I believe. It has a pentium 4 processor. Er.. I dunno what else you would need to know but if you do, just ask and I'll see what I can do.
Oh, yeah, I also tried to reinstall WC3. Well, I did reinstall it, but the same thing comes up.
Anyone wanna help D:
Thanks..

Re: Unable to connect to BNet
I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I tried to log on to Azeroth, and I couldn't. Same error. I tried changing to other realms, it worked, changed to Azeroth, it didn't. I figured the servers were down; I doubt it now. That would be a long downtime. Lemme see if Battle.net has anything about it...
Well, here's a few things that may be related.
Lots of cheaters are being banned...
They're fixing the tie-hack:
That's it, though. Nothing about Azeroth. It's possible both of us were banned. Do you use any programs while you're on? I use VCK for an autorefresher, it's possible they banned me. Unlikely, though, that would ban most of the DotA population. I dunno. I don't really play that often, so I don't really care.

Re: Unable to connect to BNet
The thing is using other CDKeys that I'm sure are not banned doesn't work either.

Hmm... Anybody else on here play on Azeroth? US East? Can you connect to it, or is it giving you an error when it tries?

Re: Unable to connect to BNet
Do you have a static or dynamic ip? If your IP is static, then you may be IP banned. Try changing your IP or wait two weeks. Battle.Net IP bans range from 15 minutes to two weeks at most.

Re: Unable to connect to BNet
Eh. Changing my IP would be a hassle with all of the port forwarding I did, so I'll just see in two weeks. I did nothing (to my knowledge anyway) worthy of banning. Unless logging on and off frequently might have something to do with it >.>. My internet was faulty yesterday so I logged on and off like 10 times within a minute.

Re: Unable to connect to BNet
Well, there's the infamous, "Realm Down"...
But I'm pretty sure that applies only to Diablo 2.
However, I've had this happen to me multiple times, usually I just don't play for the rest of the day, and it's fixed. However, I tried connected multiple times over and over while it wouldn't let me connect, and I couldn't connect for over a week, so that might be the problem. You may not be able to play up to a month now, assuming you've tried connecting a ton of times.

Re: Unable to connect to BNet
I haven't tried too much, seeing as how it didn't work after I reinstalled and reset everything I couldn't get on, I just try once a day. Hopefully that's not a ton =/

Lots of cheaters are being banned.Warcraft III Battle.net Ban Policy Update
Nebu on October 31st, 2008
In an ongoing endeavor to ensure a fair and fun online experience for all Warcraft III players, we will be escalating our efforts to remove cheaters from Battle.net. We have identified and closed over 7,700 accounts which were found to be using third-party hacks. The CD keys associated with these accounts are now restricted from playing any ladder games and/or custom for 30 days. Repeat offenders will have their accounts closed and their CD keys permanently banned from Battle.net.
Going forward, we will take a hard-line stance against cheating in all Battle.net games, and we reserve the right to close the accounts and ban the CD keys of players who are caught cheating on Battle.net.
