Vent broke my hosting skills

Post by patrick-the-bomb »

I used to be able to host, but then I downloaded Ventrilo. Now I can't host, ad I don't know why.
Can anyone help me?

That's strange....Vent is totally seperate from WC3, different port, different protocol (I think), etc. Are you sure your port forwarding didn't ust reset?

I'm positive.
I tried posting the same thing on Vent's website, and they told me to just forward some other ports and I did. That didn't work. Then, I just uninstalled Vent altogether to see if THAT would work.

It didn't. So now I have no Vent, and no hosting.... I don't see what the problem is... It worked PERFECTLY before I dled vent.

Any ideas?

Any firewalls or something? Maybe your local IP changed?

Nope. IP still 192.168.1.103. Same subnet mask as well as default gateway. ANd my window's firewall (Only one I have) is off like always. Although I have ports 6111-6115 forwarded through that too.

I have Norton Anti-virus, but I hosted with that on before vent. And the windows firewall has never caused problems before. It's either been off, or forwarded

For Battle.net, the correct ports are 6112-6118, not 6111-6115. Maybe that's the problem?

Maybe you should just start over. Remove all the forwards for WC3, install Ventrilo, and then forward the posts for WC3 again. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. I dunno.

Well, since I started askign about this I have forwarded 3784, 6100, and 6110-6120.

I connect to bnet through 6112 or 6113 depending on if I use LC or not. Vent was either 3784 or 6100. I'll try this though.
Thanks

They have a guide to setting up a static IP address, if you want. It makes it much easier to host.
