Unused account, when does it finally get deleted?

There was a user with the same nick as me on the US West Realm. I realized one day last month or so, that the account no longer existed, so I swooped in and created an account for myself with the same name.

Well, I just reinstalled windows a couple of weeks ago, and for the life of me, I cannot login to my account on the lordaeron realm. I tried pass recovery from all 4 of my addys, and no luck. Of course a mail to blizzard provved useless. I gess I just have to wait until an unused account expires. The question is, how long? I think it may be 6 months until an account is reset.

JJ is right; I've read the EULA when you try to register. Three months.

Just read XI of section 10 of the ToU and it will tell you there

My account got banned and i waited like way more than 3 months before it was available again..

That's probably because the ban was longer then 3 months and since it was banned
it didn't apply to the 90 day inactive account expiry rule... but really I don't know...

You were probably perm-banned.
Meaning that account name can't ever be used, or just an extremely long ban...
Longest ban I've ever heard of was 2 months... but after that, I don't think they bother
with time bans, it's probably just a perm-ban.
