This recent map which was released by a fairly idiot developer with a good vJASSer managed to release a "unhackable" map. Or so they claim. I've tried various methods to crack it, but i'm still unsuccessful. I'm curious whether or not anyone on these forums can open this map. I managed to run the MPQ Editor with the storm.dll but i can't seem to get the right thing xD..
Anyhow.. its probably cause i'm a total noob. I'm requesting help for anyone who can beat this challenge or perhaps find out the method they used to encrypt their map. So far there aren't any clues that i've found that points to a JASS encryption. I'm extremely curious as to how their map prevents MPQ Master from opening =/.
This map is the newly released version NVB. Named NvB1.0c
EDIT: I realize there was a previous post of an NvB release. This version, however, is the one where they declared it unhackable using a new "system".

Re: Map Crashes MPQ Master
I used the MPQ Editor and extracted practically all the files into the xDep folder.. it still doesn't seem to open the file since the war3map.w3i is corrupted.. but i replaced it with a template war3map.w3i but it still gives the same corruption message.. any ideas? =/

Re: Map Crashes MPQ Master
Hey, I was surfing the net and I came across this site that said something about using hex to edit the stuff that made the MPQ master crash. I tried it... but it didn't work for me... Well, I kinda couldn't find that site again, so I can't give you credit for him, so srry... lolxd but I might as well share it ...
Well he said something like use a hex editor then go to offset 204 (hexadecimal) or 516 (decimal), or search for the word, "MPQ" then go 1 byte after that. In the byte part (NOT TEXT), type 20000000 or one 20, then three 00s. There might be more protection than just those... Since my didn't work, you don't have to expect it to work lol!!! but you can always try =P
