how to deprotect a map?

Post by panet »

first:
i've read
and understand the 2 "guides"

but they are a little useless, what can i do if MPQRecover isn't able to recover the listfile?

for example in this map: "Naruto 3rd Shinobi Wars(Link)"

i would be very happy if someone shows me a 100% working way to get complete listfiles, thx

I made some tool that logs the listfile while wc3 loads the map... though it's for moderators only.

maybe put in on uploaded.to and earn money with it? :D

btw the tools in your guide are good, except MPQRecover, it just sucks its useless, but if you google you just find MPQRecover here MPQRecover there...

I would prefer selling it since everyone would mirror it without my permission.

It works, the only limit is that you may have to play for a while to make wc3 load all the data. (You have to see it in game!)

that means if i pick a hero

the listfile will include modelnames etc?

if i start the map, and pick hero a) i will get all entrys in the listfile that belong to hero a) and if i restart map and pick hero b) iwill it add the data of hero b to the listfile?

Basically, yes. If the map calls for something custom, it will be added to the listfile. Such as when you pick a hero, their model will be called, therefore, it is added. When a store calls for an icon, it will be added to the listfile.

The best way to get everything is to play the game a few times, :)

ok, that means this prog can get complete listfiles of every map that warcraft can open, thats exactly what i need, so how much for it?

does it have high CPU/RAM usage?
if not i may let it run while playing bnet :D
and soon i'll have a fucking good listfile for xdep/MPQmaster

btw:
system requirements pls :?

i am the first one who asked for that in a map deprotecting forum?!
all other just want to request?!

omg the people became pretty stupid...

now a german phrase because i don't know an similar english one:
wenn die Sonne tief steht werfen die Zwerge einen langen Schatten

Actually, it's like a custom loader for WC3, so it's really part of WC3, and doesn't, (I think), take up any more system requirements than regular WC3.

P.S. That's because people are too lazy to learn things.
