Importing Music into WC3

I can not import a music file into a warcraft map.

I import it and go to the sound editor, scroll down to imported and its there with a duration of 0.00.00 when i attempt to play it, it comes with the error 'This does not appear to be a valid sound file.'

any idea how i can fix this or if the music must be in a certain format (at the moment it is in mp3).

nvm got it even if its bigger than i wanted

you may try mediacoder for different parameters and smaller sizes.
