Hi! I just finished my new program, the Cortector. It's a program designed to stop people from hacking your maps and, unlike vexorian's map optimizer, it has no options!
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Open the program.
2. Click browse and select the map you wish to protect.
3. Click the other browse button and select the path at which you wish to save it at (MUST NOT BE THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL!)
4. Hit 'Protect!' and you're done!
Simple as that
Credits go to d07.RiV for helping me with the protection itself.
It overwrites the first 8 bytes of the archive...
Another reason to use the storm.dll for extraction after you got a full listfile from my tool.
(In order to rebuild the map with a clean new mpq)
I should probably release it public to finally beat all those corruption protections.
And make it upload the logged listfiles to my server, so it builds the ultimate listfile
Don't pm me with Warcraft questions, this is a forum so just make a post!

I notice when I looked at a protected map and a non one that the last part would be differnt
when looking at it through a hex editor... though it didn't seem to help... =/

It worked! Neither MPQMaster nor Ladik's MPQ Editor could open the map.
Xdep was able to deprotect it though, and I could have cheated it anyway.
However, your program had a problem.
I opened a cortected (is that a mix of corrupt and protect?) map using WinMPQ, which uses the ShadowFlare MPQ API (sfmpq.dll). Evidently, we can still cheat maps, even if your program falls into common use!
