it crash if edited...

How does one fix this? (Ie how would one go about removing that script protection?)

Note: In my case, the map in question is Civilization Wars. And it's a bug-fix, not a cheat. Not that it should make any difference.

edit: I keep getting this (see attachment).

You have to open it in JASS and delete the function that checks for any edits.
If you want, you can upload the map, we can check it for you.
(Sometimes it's a bit tricky to find them/remove them properly)

Thanks for the very quick reply!

Check the attachment for the war3map.j

Could you please tell me what I'm looking for? Is it a "date modified" check? Checksum (although this should be very difficult)? What am I looking for, generally? So you won't have to fix every map in the future. :)

Could you also provide the full map name/version,
or a link to the map? Ty.

Ok!

Thanks!

BIG EDIT:

Removing the (Attributes) file does not crash the map. Exporting the war3map.j and reimporting the very same (unmodified) does not appear to crash the map. Changing even one character in a string in war3map.j however DOES CRASH The Frozen Throne when you try to host it or when you even select it in the map list in single player. If you then reimport the original war3map.j the map is playable once again. So it seems, making any modification(s) at all to the war3map.j file causes TFT to crash once you select the map in the map list in single player (or host it in multi player).

How do they accomplish this? It seems to go way beyond mere JASS. Either that or JASS is way more advanced than I ever thought.

At first I thought this was some sort of Uber map protection... then later found out it
was actually like a "script error" but it would not crash the map unless you edited the script...
I don't know how to explain it... anyways I'm going to keep it to myself... haha ;)
Here is a link to the map without the "Uber map protection error"
