Hero Design!

Post by Aero »

Essentially, I took the evil illidan model (The one with wings) and decided to design my own hero and abilities with a spell-blade or magic-warrior type theme.
I already have some ideas and have started making one or two but am looking for additional input or ideas!

The hero will have 6 abilities, with one being an ultimate.
All the abilities will be coded in JASS (So you can be creative with your ideas!).

Once I've finished the hero (with or without input in case no one posts... >.<), I'll edit this post with a link to the map in case anyone wants to check it out.

So basically...
I need:

1. The name of the hero: (Spellblade or Demonblade to something to this extent...am flexible)
2. Ability ideas! (Please include special effect details / visuals to help me better understand/visualize the spell!)

@1. Bladefinder, Vorpal, Lynches, Truesword/blade/Strike, Gray/Greydeath, Blackblade, Mournbringer/blade, Miserybringer, Subtleknife, Singlesword, Doomgiver, Farblade, Souldrainer/stealer/binder, Bladedancer, Icingdeath, Clawknife, Razorknife/blade, Eagerblade, Sentinel, Lacerator, Tormenter, Prizemaker, Strifebringer, Miracleblade, Fatesealer/forger, Phantomblade, Fatality, Diamondblade, Dawnbringer, Duskbringer, Lightbringer, Darkbringer, Delusionblade, Executer, Ashblade/bringer, Aeonian, Tearknife, Chaosbringer, Artemis, Furymaker, Darklight, Silverblade, Liracor, and Paradisemaker.

:? I hope I gave you some ideas...I suck at making names, :(

(edit) As for hero abilities, how about a lynch ability, (neck attack)? Demon hunter takes his two blades together and puts it through the enemies neck. I'm not sure if there's an animation for that...lol, plus, if hit, there would be a blood effect.

1. The name of the hero: An'jo the Spellcasting Slasher

2.

Basic Information:

Name : An'jo the Spellcasting Slasher (SS)
Main Attribute: Intelligence

Intro : The Spellcasting Slasher is a terrifying hero. In the past, he had robbed thousands and killed millions. Carrying its blade, the mighty Spellcasting Slasher inspires fear in all. The Spellcasting Slasher' skills make them formidable opponents.

Spells :

Image
Mana Burn
Sends a bolt of negative energy that burns a target enemy unit's mana. Burned mana combusts, dealing damage to the target equal to the amount of mana burned. Cooldown decreases per level.

Image
Chaos Flare (Credits to Virtviuz for this spell)
The Spellcasting Slasher charges its mana into one bolt of lightning. The enemy is then dealt 40 damage per 10% of its max health it still has and is stunned for .3 seconds for each 10% of its max health missing.

Image
Cleaving Attack (Passive)
The Spellcasting Slasher's blade allows him to damage multiple enemies with an attack.

Image
Movespeed Charge (Icon credits to wet_water from the Hive Workshop
The Spellcasting Slasher uses its mana and sends it to its feet. Charging for a few seconds of delay, the Spellcasting Slasher would have a movespeed depending on how long it charged. Allowing the him to chase the running enemy. Ex. 1 second - +50 ms | 2 seconds - +100ms and so on...

Thats all I can think of. :P

Hm, this gives me the idea of maybe making him a ghost/soul controller type. Uses shadow or unholy type spells--fits with the evil illidan model too. I think I'll stick with this theme.

@ luggagepls

I want to make all the spells coded in JASS, which means no hard-coded spells like mana burn or cleaving attack. I would also not like spells that other people have made--similar ideas that have been changed or tweaked a bit is fine though. Thanks for input though.

It doesn't matter at all if you're good at JASS.
I'm making ALL the spells.

I just need ideas.

Well, if the theme of the hero is going to be a controller...you'll need a control spell. You'll need to have the base spell charm, I think, but takes about two and a half seconds to cast, and during those two and a half seconds, you turn to the mirror image blue, and you'll move towards the target, and when you get there, you'll get a limited control of the target, being able to use all items, abilities, and being able to attack, but not being able to drop their items, that lasts for depending on what kind of map this is for. Also, when controlling the enemy unit, other regular enemy units, (footmen, archers, towers, etc.) from the same force cannot attack the controlled unit, but enemy heroes can still attack the controlled hero. When the time is up from being controlled, the Soulbinder will leave the target instantly right outside the controlled hero and both of them will be stunned for three seconds. Also, when you reach the target, the Banish buff animation will be played on the target while controlled, and when the spell is taken off, it'll disappear.
