Hey guys,
Here's the scenario:
There are two versions of a map.
One has cheats and the other doesn't.
Instance 1. I host the one with the cheats and nobody downloads it, but they have the map automatically when they join the game. I noticed it was like this for the past two cheated maps that i've hosted.
The only two differences between are the maps both have different file names, and one has cheats.
Instance 2.Then, someone else hosted and I was positive that I didn't have their version of the map. I only had the cheated version with a different but very similar file name.
In both of instances, the cheats actually worked without a problem.
But here's what boggles me, there were other times when I hosted a different version of a map and users had to download it, no matter whatever changed and warcraft renamed it automatically from:
map.w3x to map~1.w3x
Now I'm trying to figure out, is that a bug or something in the Jass code that makes a map download if it isn't exact?

not a bug.
you cant play the game with them unless they download it as its different.
change the map name or make a more obvious change so they are required to download regardless of them seeing the map picture.
heres what happens:
wc3 reads the game name (name of game near the picture) then shows you a picture if it has one supplied.
because you have your .w3x the different name, you'll see the picture and still need to dl if the maps different.
if you dont dl, and the map is different, you will drop from the game.
you NEED to dl if you don't have the exact changes or the game fails for other players and youre the host, etc....
