Hi, I was told to come to your guys' site for help on models.
I am currently looking for InuYasha Skins/Models. Someone unprotected thier map for me so I can use thier skins, but I do not know how to transfer "thier skin" onto my map.
Can anyone assist me with either: Giving me InuYasha Character model/skins
or: Telling me how I can transfer a skin from his map to mine?
Thanks in advance!
-Kiba

Re: Model Skins
Take his map, open it with the world editor, go to the improt manager, and extract his models one by one or all at once.
Then open your map and import the models, then in the object editor assign the models to them in the right place =/

I did that with the copy and paste thing in the "import", but when I did that the models just turned into green/black checkered cubes...Xantan wrote:Take his map, open it with the world editor, go to the improt manager, and extract his models one by one or all at once.

Did you import that file using the Import Manager before attempting to assign it to this unit?KibaWolf wrote:I did that with the copy and paste thing in the "import", but when I did that the models just turned into green/black checkered cubes...Xantan wrote:Take his map, open it with the world editor, go to the improt manager, and extract his models one by one or all at once.

If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already,
three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis; would you recommend that she have an abortion?

Re: Model Skins
Alright. Here's how to do it from the start.
1. Open the other person's map.
2. Go to import manager.
3. Click on a file.
4. Go to file > export file.
5. Choose your location, and save it there
6. Close the map.
7. Open your map.
8. Go to import manager.
9. Import the file.
IMPORTANT!!!!!
If you file is a .mdx, then remove the wc3 import part, so its filename.mdx
Note: If you are opening up a model (unit, not spell
), then there will likey be several parts that need to be imported as well to make it work.
10. Open up Wacraft 3 Viewer...if you don't have it get it.
11. Open up your .mdx file.
12. Go to Current File > Show Used Texture Names. There you will almost definatly see several files which the model is dependant upon.
13. Import the files.
14. Change their file paths to what is shown in the Show Used Texture Names box.
Another Note: If you don't have the other files (as in, the map you were opening didn't have them for some odd reason), then you will need to get them! Go to Current File > Extract (and convert) Used Textures. Uncheck conversion, choose where you want the files on the left to go, and then do it. =P
Hope this helps. >=P
