I hate to be the guy that necros, but considering the Scourge are my favorite maybe's that's just thematic. Maybe I'm just stupid, but when I downloaded this and go to try and save the man, it forces me to assign spawn points and when I load in? There is nothing there. Maybe I'm missing something, but how am I supposed to edit this if saving it removes everything seemingly?
Honestly, all I want to do with this is fix the shit that got broken after the Refunded debacle. It messed up some units and visuals, like the Orc Spearthrower and the fountains you revive at.

If you can't assign spawn points, do you really think you have the ability to "fix" the map?

I know HOW to do that. I just didn't realize that all the unit data was completely GONE due to the deprotection process. Look, I haven't touched worldedit in years, and never worked on a deprotected map before. Having searched the site here after encountering this issue, I learned that deprotection will allow you to open the map, but unit data is often lost along with the trigger data, unless it's reuploaded in JASS format or whatever.
I'm asking because the OP literally asked for one he could open and save. I thought that meant right out of the box without missing unit data. I it there is no way to get those back without having to put them all there myself?

The deprotection process doesn't necessarily mean the map will be playable, but rather that it can simply be opened in the World Editor. During this process, many elements essential to the editor or even to gameplay are lost, especially in older maps, since the optimization and protection tools of that era tended to strip away far too much to prevent their maps from being hacked or edited by third parties.Angel71090 wrote: September 13th, 2026, 4:59 pm I know HOW to do that. This is clearly stated in Section 3 of the additional notes in the map request rules. That said, the deprotection process has evolved over the years and new techniques have been discovered. A lot has changed between 2023 and 2026, and it might even be possible to deprotect this specific map without losing as much. I can give it a try if you'd like.
