Ok, basically I've been playing this game for a while now and I've noticed that there are some secrets hidden within it, I found 4 secret items but have been unable to find the other 2, if you have any ideas it would help a lot as It bugs me that there are some secret items I can't find. Heres a link to the official forums for it(I think) and also a couple replays which show where to get 4 of the items.
Replay 1
Replay 2
The first replay will require Parasite 1.08(the unedited version) and has red retrieving 4 different secret items.
The second replay requires Parasite 1.09 and has blue retrieving 4 secret items. Both replays show the same 4 items being retrieved
Thanks for your help

How can you tell if there are more than 4, id say deprotect the map, recover the objects in editor and then browse the object editor for items that you havent seen in the game.

Re: Parasite 2 Secrets?
Hmm, I'll look through the map myself then, in the meantime, I think I'm missing something with deprotection, I put it through xdep but it gets some errors about possible lost files. If you could just give me a correctly deprotected map and possibly how you did it, that would help. Also, how do I search through the triggers for the items? The actual item names aren't included so far as I can tell, and I have located the correct items in the object editor. Should I use the other editor (WEU I think), or something else?
I just opened up the editing stuff for the first time the other day because It kept bugging me not being able to get these secrets, so I am a bit inexperienced, thanks for your help.

To look at items simply make it display raw code in advanced settings or somewhere like that, then get the rawcode for the item and look for it in the triggers.

Re: Parasite 2 Secrets?
Heh, guess this is map editing related now. Anyway, until I can positively find out how to correctly get the item, I was wondering, why isn't this working? The camera shake works (was a test to see if the event was put in correctly), but the item does not spawn a short ways below the person (x = 0, y = -5) who activated the event.

Re: Parasite 2 Secrets?
triggering unit is not a unit at all as no unit triggered it.
Use create item for unit -> random unit owned by player
or something.

Ok, would this work? Also, if you have no units with an inventory will it work (like drop below the unit or something)? If you have one unit with an inventory and one without will it only work 50% of the time?

Re: Parasite 2 Secrets?
Looks like it would work, and it creates the item where your guy is so it wouldn't matter if they have inv or not.

Re: Parasite 2 Secrets?
Created an activator and a few of the game's item spawns, heres the result: [blinking][marquee]Link[/marquee][/blinking]
Commands:
Activator:-yet another is my master
List:-List
Note that this is my first actual time opening the WC3 editor, many thanks to Xantan and a few other people I can't remember , Included is a replay of my first test run, the chat may screw up in it unfortunately, but it's kinda funny when 3 nukes, a few bombs, a meteor shower, and a huge alien all happen within a few minutes of each other.
Lastly, how exactly do you create new player groups, I improvised for this map, and how do you give out a deprotected map with all the triggers intact? (i.e. saving the map you have access to, to an unprotected form)

Re: Parasite 2 Secrets?
Nice job mike, I can help you with anything else you need as well.
You can make a player group in the variable editor (ctrl+B) or hit the V I think...
You cant fully deprotect maps to their original forms (ie gui triggers and pre-placed units for the world editor) as they are deleted by most map optimizers... I think thats what you were asking? =/
you want me to move this to fulfilled so people can see this?
