This is an odd one for me, I've read up on most types of common protection and still have come up with nothing here...
Map won't open, even after xdep, deprotect, whatever : someone's doing something clever to overflow war3 edit on load. So I move to second stage, and go for war3map.j since all I need is to examine/repair some buggy triggers anyways. Doesn't work, any change to the file, done via whichever editor you want (Ladik's, MPQ Master, etc) causes the map not to create anymore if you try and host.
I know this can sometimes be fixed by removing the attributes file, but I tried that and it doesn't seem to matter. I wondered for a bit if maybe there's some precise filesize limits or something odd in the MPQ Table that causes things to break if you increase the length of war3map.j (more reaching at this point for explanations), but but removing text fails too. The default MPQ for the map is encrypted, but xdep removes that, so that can be also ruled out (happens with xdep opened version too).
So something other than the attributes file is protecting war3map.j from changing, what else can do that that I haven't already checked?
war3map.j checksum without attributes file?

There could be many ways to make make the map unplayable after edit, anti-cheats via jass is limited by the knowledge and creativity of the protector alone.
Example of a map like this is warlock. That is one hard cookie to crack.
Post the original map and I will have a look at it (when I have time)

Still, it wont be immediate.
@Alanite
NOTD is a map that IIRC has anti-cheats and I think I cheated that map a hundred times over.
Edit: FOUND IT! - http://forum.wc3edit.net/fulfilled-requ ... hilit=NOTD
As I sated in the post the map has anti-cheats, you can open the war3map.j file and see what i commented out.
