Times have changed with the 8mb bypass.

There are 2 modes.
1. Hero defense
2. Arena / battle

Also there are 3 hero that require password to unlock it
Itsuka kotori, tokisaki kurumi and white rock shooter
To acquire the password, you must play arena mode and enable the boss chess then defeat the last boss of Chess Boss event.
