I'd like the attached CP to be inserted into the map! I tried to do it myself, but either my listfile is incomplete or I'm an idiot, because the war3map.j is filled with random characters when I open it.

What MPQ program do you use? Maybe the problem is with the one I'm using, although this is the only map so far I've encountered it with.

I just tried using MPQMaster and it worked fine for me, there was literally no protection on it.
