Broken Icons

Guys, does anyone of you know how to solve this? My .exe and shortcut files started losing their icons recently, which until now I don't know what caused it, nor how to fix it.

Your icons cache is corrupted. This happens to me once in a while.

Which method will I use? The first one or the second one?

I tried method 1 since method 2 didn't work. Thanks Bartimaeus, this helped me. :]
