Hello everyone, I've recently tried to hook up a second monitor to my desktop, I have the XFX Radeon HD 6850 graphics card, which is supposed to allow dual monitors, I've tried multiple different ones to hook up, every different combo of adapter and cabling, etc. nothing will work. Is it my graphics card or something else?
Note:I'm also running Win 7

Re: Dual Monitors Problem
For starters you might wanna enable that option. Check your control settings panel. Make sure that you set your second monitor as active. Whatsmore, hit WIN+P and select extend.

Re: Dual Monitors Problem
Well that's the problem, I have it set to extend, but it wont detect my second monitor.
EDIT:Also seems to auto-reset it back to computer only when I try to change to extend.

Re: Dual Monitors Problem
My card was strange (dont ask me what it is) but I could not hook up DVI with component, or DVI with DVI, but DVI and HDMI worked together. Try different cables.

Re: Dual Monitors Problem
here i am sharing dual monitors problem:
I have a MSI M670 laptop ( with nvidia 6100Go graphics card ) and a Samsung SyncMaster T240HD. I always connected my monitor with a VGA cable on my windows xp and everything worked fine.
After i've installed Windows 7 when i connect the monitor to my laptop automatically the laptop monitor is disabled and the Samsung becomes the primary display.
If i press windows_key+P Computer Only is selected and whatever i select from the list ( duplicate, extend, projector only ) nothing happens and Computer Only is always selected.
In the Nvidia panel under the "Set up multiple displays" option after i connect the Samsung it becomes the only option so i cannot revert to my laptop display whatever i do.
Rigurous Display Detection does not help at all.
Any ideas ?
