I know how to use\open these.
I go into MPQ master, open the file, "Error opening archive". Now this could be anything, from MPQ corruption to bad tool.
So then I go to MPQ Editor and try. "File is not an archive".
MPQ View seems to work fine, but thats only for extracting.

Try RMPQEx and redownload the tools.
If RMPQEx cannot open it. Its spazzlard for sure. If it CAN open it. Problem is with the tool and its files (the not working ones).

Still. The best maps to check on are the default melee maps in the "Frozen Throne" Folder.

Or you can go for ACP3 or hex edit them yourself.

Tools.
ACP and Hex Editor is great, but I tend to like to inspect the war3map.j for other reasons than cheating these days. And I also look at other files.
Oh well, I think it should be fine. I'm making my own MPQ editor. It's going to take a long time, but it should work.

But if any of you figure it out please post!

The only way I can think of helping, is use teamviewr. Or a tool of the sort.
