Anti MH for the Mini Map

Post by m2tm »

Hey dudes. I've been working on my anti mh and it works fairly reliably now and laglessly too... But I'm looking for a way to perform a check against the minimap... If anyone has suggestions e-mail me at [email protected] or reply here if you don't mind making it public.

Unfortunately there is no blackmask in vampirism so the whole map is explored. Xantan, I know you've dealt a lot with your anti maphack... I do the simple crash bug, but I hear you've got an actual thing to detect it and list names of who is maphacking which is completely different. Do you know of any way to figure the minimap out? The only foolproof way I know is to disable it...

And I'm looking for something I can do in a public game setting so submitting screenshots is not even an option.

If you do know of a way but don't want to tell me, that's fine... If you tell me it's possible or give me a hint that would be enough to get me going.

I also think the only fool-proof way is to disable the minimap.

I can detect most maphackers other than that.

And what if the minimap is revealed on another window. Yet not touched in game. ^^

Anyway most don't think to do these things so no worries to whoeva uses the screenshot method lolz.

Wait... Does anyone know how to make a unit appear on the minimap for a specific player?

I'm thinking if I disable all units from being visible on the minimap then I manually add a trigger to display a unit for a specific player only if unitisvisible is true for that player....

That would work unless maphack programs display all units regardless of visibility.

Or is it possible to make a custom ping... or a ping that looks like a regular box instead of the circle or exclamation point or warning.... I could continually ping the minimap for the correct players if the object is visible and disable the displays on minimap for all the units.
