Could you also explain how you get the items.txt file from these maps?
Also, some maps like CoT PoM FoC I understand you have to use RMPQx and extract and then rebuild it into another mpq, but when I try and extract anything from that particular map its saying that the map isn't an archive and just stops. I'm guessing that the posters above me are experiencing that problem.

Re: [Guide] Deprotecting / Inserting a Cheatpack / Enabling SP
I have a problem with the following map:
http://www.epicwar.com/maps/95640/
Any changes done to war3script.j result in the map not being read by Warcraft (blank information/team selection screen). I tried to change just a typo in one of the on-screen text messages. I did not edit or remove any functions, etc.
I am using MPQMaster to extract and replace the script file and JassCraft for editting.
I've successfully editted several protected maps with these tools, but this one seems to be more complex. What can I do about it?
The map is heavily protected and the code is scrambled though I guess it should work if all I want to do is edit the easiest lines in the script: the on-screen messages to players...

How does it work? Is it like a custom script to prevent changes to the main code? This guide says how to add cheats but does not specify how to remove anti-cheat. Is it a map-specific thing customized by the author or a rather general method of protection? I just want to makes changes not add cheats.

Anti-cheats are custom written for each map by the author. Sometimes they simply try to prevent people from meddling with anti-singleplayer functions or from adding cheats; other times they try to prevent people from even modifying the map.

Re: [Guide] Deprotecting / Inserting a Cheatpack / Enabling SP
Sorry, but i wanna ask something.. I want to deprotect a map but I cant open or extract the map using mpqmaster or rmpqex or ladik mpq editor, so what should i do?
When i try open using rmpqex it says, file is not an mpq archieve. When i try open use ladik, it says, an attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format
Help appreciated

Did you try telling Ladik's to force open in MPQ 1.0 and read-only? Or would it not let you get that far? The first should work; if not, the map is probably simply corrupted.
