it's annoying how people think their right, especially when 80% of everyone is.

Double exp + double exp = 3x exp.. right?
everyone keeps saying it's 4x and it's driving me nuts.

When you double, you multiply by two, not 1.5. If it's double from the original, then yes, it's three. But if it's double from double, then it'd be four.

tl;dr Lan counts "double experience" as adding an amount in order to double the experience to your normal experience.

So n is normal, d is your "double experience", then:

n = 100, d = 100, n + d = 200

With that, adding another "double experience" would be n + 2*d = 300, so 3 times experience.

However, for people who treat double experience as 2n, it's still 4x.

Lanaya if you are talking about an MMORPG, 2x double xp buffs will net you 300% exp

Technically that is true, but every MMORPG I have played has added a double xp buff as a bonus 100% bonus off the base exp... So one buff = 200% so buffs = 300%. They don't want you leveling too fast!
