i know the map size limit for lan and b.net is around 8mb
(the map i was editing was 8.14mb, when i added 3-4 lines of JASS, it jumped to 8.3mb and got the map size is too big error)
I tried deleting useless stuff (quest info mostly)
and deleted over 50 lines.....and yet, the map size doesnt change o.o
Next, i tried optimizing the map and the map size went to 1kb.....(tested and the map didnt work)
so i tried optimizing the .j file only, then, using MPQmaster, i put the .j (originally 1.4mb, optimized to ~900kb) back into the map)
but the map size still didnt change.....>.<
I also tried making the map into a campaign (cuase i heard that single player mode doesnt have a map size limit)
and it works fine until i got to click the chapter title (i click it and it sends me back to the chapter menu)
(main menu > single player > custom campaign > campaign menu > chapter menu)
Anyway....so i was wondering..
how do u reduce the map size to make it playable in lan and b.net...?
and also, why didnt the custom campaign work?
*note: i was using soulchess 1.30b.w3x*
Map size is too big?

Re: Map size is too big?
Removing some unnecessary models could help.
Plus try to widgetize the objects with WTS inliner.

Optimize without ZLib Deflation and Compact Archive on.
It wont be reduced 99.99% then.

Re: Map size is too big?
did you rebuild the MPQ?
If all you did was add 3 lines and it jumped. then sorry you didnt compact flush.
